The latest craze capture the feet of the dancing world is the ZUMBA. People from every country that plays music are doing the step and shifting the hips and getting more benefit from it than just having a good time. The side benefit is the aerobic workout and the possible loss of pounds that creep up on us. Understanding the steps will help you to enjoy the dance. There are proper ways to do the Zumba also so let’s try to get them straight.
Getting Started
A checkup is always suggested when starting any fresh exercise program. If you’ve recently have undergone surgical treatment or any serious sickness that could affect your stamina or balance you should get approval from your physician. Any open or draining wounds from operation may also delay the start of such a course. Your physician can also offer you course of action for your exercise routine including targeted heart rates & warning signs that can let you know you’ve overdone it. Find a friend to work out with. It is never sensible to be in a pool by yourself at anytime, but the risks are much greater if you’re engaging in strenuous activities. A work out buddy can call for assistance if needed.
Where to exercise?
If you have a backyard pool your exercise room is as close as your backyard. Unfortunately in several parts of US back yard pools cannot be used year round because of the weather conditions. A heated pool is much superior especially for those seniors who have stiff & painful joints from arthritis. The warm water will make the workout routine much simpler.
What eventually happens is quite astonishing. As you engage in increasingly more aerobic activity, your body begins tapping into your muscles for energy. Your body will literally break down muscle tissue in order to meet those energy demands. That muscle tissue gets converted to glucose for supporting all that aerobic activity. So what this means is that you are creating a less efficient fat-burning machine; your metabolism is actually getting weaker.
Remember the following principle the next time you lace up your running shoes… steady-state cardio training does not build muscle – and doing too much quite possibly can actually make you lose muscle.
So if steady-state cardio training does not achieve optimum weight loss then what is the solution? The solution is called Interval Training. Interval Training, or commonly referred to as Anaerobic training, consists of moderate to high intensity cardio activity.
