When at the gym, no one is there to judge you based on your beauty or stylishness. That’s why there’s no use showing up dressed like a celebrity. If you’re planning on hitting the gym but got no idea what to wear, continue reading. The following are some tips on what to wear appropriately when working out.
Skip wearing everyday bra to the gym. When working out, you need to have maximum support. This is most especially true when performing heavy routines. It’s always advisable to wear high-quality sports bra. Such is made from breathable fabric, and stretches comfortably during every upper body movement.
Many gym goers swear by the comfort only a t-shirt can bring. However, make sure it’s just the right size to provide you ease of movement. Wearing something that’s too fitting will be suffocating, and will restrict much of your movements. On the other hand, something too loose might interfere with your routines.
For the lower body, you can choose among shorts, leggings and track pants. But many of women who hit the gym prefer wearing shorts. Just like for your top, your shorts should be of the right size. Something that’s too tight will limit your movements, and something that’s too baggy may leave you exposed.
If you’re planning to regularly hit the gym, invest in a durable pair of work out shoes. Work out shoes will provide the right support for your feet, and minimize your risk for sustaining an injury. There’s a reason why you don’t see anyone wearing leather brown boots, platforms and stilettos at the gym. Ask your fitness trainer if you have no idea which pair is best for you.
You may also wear a wrist watch to the gym, especially if you need to stick to a certain schedule. A sports watch will be great, as it’s not going to be damaged by sweat or water. A leather watch is simply not designed for working out. Besides, just imagine how stinky the strap will be by the time you step out of the gym.
Putting on make up will not make you burn off calories more effectively. When you get all too sweaty, your make up will run down your face. It will end up in your tee or on the gym equipment you’re using. Try not to apply any beauty product on your face when hitting the gym. For instance, using lancome eye cream might sting your eyes when mixed with sweat.
When you’re dressed correctly for the gym, you will see that you can perform your work out routines better. Always go for comfort and function. Focus on being in shape while inside the gym. You can always go back to looking trendy after you’re through with working out.
